Something Regarding Marriage

At first glance marriage seems like a terribly loud thing.
Stale.
All schedules and obligations and cold coffee.
But when the mind wanders with the person loved enough to attach a tether
The noise turns quiet
To gentle pulsating nights.
Laying the children in cream sheets.
Sitting silent on the back porch
Watching the moon fade in.
Nothing resounding
But the feathered...
